Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 August 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how I, Cilla Webb, trading as Cilla's Purls, use cookies and similar technologies on my website, cillaspurls.co.uk. It explains what these technologies are, why I use them, and what choices you have.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They're widely used to make websites work, work more efficiently, and to give the site owner useful information about how visitors use the site.
How I use cookies
My website is built and hosted on Wix, and like most websites, it uses cookies for a few different purposes:
Essential cookies These are necessary for the website to function properly. They let you browse my site, add patterns to your basket, log in to your account, and complete a purchase securely. The site can't work properly without these, so they can't be switched off.
Functional cookies These remember choices you've made (such as language or display preferences) to give you a more personalised experience when you return to my site.
Analytics/performance cookies Wix's built-in analytics tools may use cookies to help me understand how visitors find and use my site — for example, which pages are most popular, and how visitors navigate the shop. This helps me improve the site and my patterns over time. I don't currently use separate third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
Third-party links My website links to my social media pages (including Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube). If you click through to any of these, that platform's own cookie and privacy policy will apply — I'd encourage you to check their policies separately, as I have no control over cookies set on their sites.
Cookies set by Wix
Because my site runs on the Wix platform, Wix itself sets certain cookies that are needed to provide core site functionality, security, and, where applicable, its own site statistics. You can find more detail on the cookies Wix uses in Wix's own Cookie Policy.
Managing your cookie preferences
If you'd rather not have cookies stored on your device, most web browsers let you:
-
See what cookies you have and delete them individually
-
Block third-party cookies
-
Block cookies from particular sites
-
Block all cookies from being set
-
Delete all cookies when you close your browser
Please bear in mind that if you choose to block or delete cookies, some parts of my site — such as your shopping basket or account login — may not work as intended.
If you see a cookie consent banner when you first visit my site, you can use it to manage your preferences at any time.
Changes to this policy
I may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if the tools I use on my website change. Any updates will be posted on this page, so please check back occasionally.
